ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) is based on the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), a national-level entrance exam designed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The JNVST is conducted for Class 6 and Class 9 admissions. The application process is online, and the selection is merit-based, with a focus on identifying talented students, especially from rural areas. 

 

Key Aspects of the Admission Procedure:

 

Entrance Test (JNVST):

The JNVST is a non-verbal test designed to assess students' mental ability, mathematics, and language skills. 

 

Merit-Based Selection:

Candidates are selected based on their performance in the JNVST, with a merit list prepared for each district. 

 

Rural Area Focus:

At least 75% of the seats in each district are reserved for candidates from rural areas. 

 

Reservation Policy:

Reservations are also in place for SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang candidates as per government norms. 

 

Application Process:

Applications are typically submitted online through the official Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) website. 

 

Age and Educational Qualifications:

Free Education:
