ABOUT SAINIK SCHOOLS

Sainik Schools are a chain of educational institutions in India whose main goal is to get students ready for admission to top military schools such as the National Defence Academy (NDA). These schools follow to a demanding military-style curriculum that prioritizes leadership development, intellectual ability, and physical fitness in addition to academic performance. Sainik Schools seek to develop future leaders for India’s armed services by providing a comprehensive education.

Sainik Schools are connected with the CBSE and function as residential English-medium schools. They are intended to get cadets ready for entrance into esteemed establishments like the National Defence Academy Khadakwasla (Pune), the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, and other schools for officer training.

There are currently 33 Sainik Schools spread out around the nation. These Schools are located in various states of our country.

To join the Sainik Schools, one has to take the entrance test conducted by NTA.

 

Eligibility Criteria for admission into Sainik Schools:

 

For Class VI:

Both Boys and Girls who are studying in the 5th class, aged 10 to 12.

For Class IX:  

Both Boys and Girls who are studying in the 8th class and who are between the age group of 13 to 15 years old.

 

Procedure for Selection for Sainik Schools:

 

Written Exam: 

Students are required to pass the written exam, which is based on the course material and format.

Interview: 

Those who made the short list are invited to an interview. The candidate’s success in the written exam, Interview, & medical assessment determines who gets chosen in the end.

Medical Examination: 

To make sure they fulfill the necessary physical and medical requirements, shortlisted candidates go through a comprehensive medical examination.
